The first victim of the “pirate” hunt from Japan was landed at the Port of Kushiro.

This is the first minke whale of 227 that this country will hunt for commercial purposes in defiance of the existing prohibition worldwide, established by the International Whaling Commission.

Japan’s decision to withdraw from the IWC and to hunt whales for commercial purposes only demonstrates a profound indifference in the management of living marine resources as required by international law as well as by the #LeydelMar Convention of #ONU

There is an urgent need for international action for the ballads # Argentina # Brazil # Chile # Colombia # Ecuador # Costa Rica # Mexico # Panama # Peru # Dominican Republic # Uruguay. The time to act is now!
